Jack is semi-retired and you can find him most mornings at the Lumber Yard between 8:30 and noon.

Jack Freeman bought the company in 1988 and moved it to its current location in 1990. Jack has been married to his wife Brenda for over 50 years and they have 3 boys, Joe, Jim, and Jon. Jack spent the first 17 years of his professional career working in the shoe manufacturing business before moving into the lumber business.
Jack has been blessed with a wife who’s been a crucial part of his life and the business since the beginning, three boys and their wives, 7 grandchildren, 6 grandchildren-in-law, and 5 great grandchildren.

Jim Freeman is the owner/manager of Marshfield Lumber.

Jim is the middle son of Jack and Brenda and has been married to Gina (Carriger) for 27 years.  Gina is a realtor for Complete Realty. They have two kids, Mitch, and Madi.  Mitch and his wife Carin have two daughters, Haylee and Harper.  Mitch works in the family business and Carin recently completed her RN training.  Madi and her husband, Dylan Robinson, are in full time ministry and travel the Midwest as evangelists.

Jon Freeman does outside sales and deliveries for Marshfield Lumber.

Jon is Jack’s youngest son and has been with Marshfield Lumber for 27 years. Jon is married to Selena and they have two children, Kaden and Krenna. Selena is the lead pastor at The Well Church in Springfield, Missouri. Kaden recently married Haley and Krenna is a senior in high school.

Mitch Freeman is involved in all aspects of customer service, including deliveries, getting orders ready, and helping customers in the store.

Mitch has lived in Marshfield all his life and graduated from Marshfield High School in 2014.  He is Jim’s son and has been working at Marshfield Lumber since he graduated. Mitch is married to Carin Freeman and they have two little girls, Haylee and Harper.

Kevin Cantrell takes care of contractor sales and bid take offs at Marshfield Lumber.

Kevin has been in the lumber business since 1996 and has worked for Marshfield Lumber for over 20 years. He is married to Debbie and has 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren. Kevin has lived in Marshfield his whole life and he is involved in many parts of this community including the Lion’s Club and the Webster County Fair Board.

Daniel Hartwell is in charge of hardware at Marshfield Lumber.

Daniel has worked at Marshfield Lumber since 2016 and previously worked at Hartwell’s ACE Hardware. Daniel is married to Debbie and has two kids Hallie and Trey. Daniel is the grandson of long time Marshfield builder Clifford Hartwell.

Chesley Rost is the Yard Manager. He restocks lumber and gets orders ready for the contractors.

Chesley is married to Carissa Rost. Chesley has been a family friend to the Freeman’s for 20 years. He has worked for Marshfield Lumber since June 2019.
